Jennifer Hammock: The Biodiversity Open Data Landscape: a Beautiful Mess | The biodiversity sciences community has made rapid strides in mobilizing and sharing data in the last decade. While certain barriers are still inherent, cultural and policy barriers to sharing have largely been overcome, and a great deal of geolocated occurrence data, organism trait data, historic documents, and media are now available for reuse.

Matt Spitzer: Open Science Framework for Connecting Institutional Research | Matt will present on current tools and services that are freely available and built using the modular underlying toolkit on which the Open Science Framework is based. He will also highlight pilot projects currently being pursued by partner institutions to connect local and regional services for increasing discoverability, preservation, and reuse of research outputs.
